New Haven, CT Breeze Airways, the premium leisure low-cost carrier offering affordable nonstop service across the U.S., announced New Haven, CT as the airline’s 64th city.  Located on the northern shore of the Long Island Sound, the harbor city is the airline’s second in the state of Connecticut and its eighth in New England.

Service from Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN) will commence on December 10, with five times weekly nonstop flights to Fort Myers, and then, on the 11th, to Orlando and West Palm Beach. Nonstop flights from HVN to Vero Beach will begin December 13, and an additional six destinations will begin flying in February, including nonstop service to Charleston, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Raleigh-Durham, Richmond and Sarasota-Bradenton. All destinations are available to book via the airline’s website, www.flybreeze.com, and on the Breeze app through May 12, 2025.

Breeze also announced plans to expand its base of operations at Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford to include HVN while continuing to grow its service from BDL, including international service, in the coming months. The carrier, which is in the final stages of securing the necessary certification to begin flying internationally, intends to begin selling service to international destinations before the end of the year.

The planned Northeast expansion is part of Breeze’s ongoing commitment to providing underserved markets with an affordable, yet elevated air travel alternative. Breeze, which was recently ranked in the top five of Travel + Leisure’s “Best Domestic Airlines” for the third year in a row, began selling service from just 16 cities in May 2021, including Hartford. Since then, the airline has seen tremendous demand for its unique “premium leisure” model that marries efficiency and affordability with comfort and accessibility. Today Breeze is the largest carrier in terms of destinations served at BDL, with service to 24 cities across the U.S.

The New Haven service, which includes some of Breeze’s most popular destinations including Vero Beach and Fort Myers, allows New England residents to experience more great getaways up and down the East Coast, including:

“From ‘Day One’ our playbook has included significant growth across the Northeast region of the U.S. due to the high population density and limited nonstop travel options,” said Lukas Johnson, Breeze Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer. “As a result, our unique model of air service has been a game-changer for this area of the country, giving residents affordable flights from convenient airports such as Hartford, Westchester County, Providence, Stewart-Newburgh, and now, New Haven, just to name a few. I know that as more and more people experience our one-of-a-kind service and product, they will see what all the hype is about and why Breeze has grown so quickly in such a short period of time.”
