ExpressJet was a great regional airline yesterday, and today we’re even better.
On Feb. 17, ExpressJet pilots voted in extensions to our existing, separate contracts that provide an unmatched total compensation package while retaining superior work rules that define who we are as an organization. Our first year first officers will now make $37-40/hr, depending on equipment. We increased per diem to $1.85/hr, with another increase to $1.90/hr 18 months from date of signing, bumped up our pay scales at all levels, and enhanced our profit share program. Additionally, the contract extensions reflect improvements to our already industry-leading work rules.
Just a few days later, we announced a partnership with United through a Pilot Career Pathway Program that offers a guaranteed interview to eligible ExpressJet pilots, and a set number of slots held for our pilots. We expect 1 in 4 new first officers at United to be hired from ExpressJet.
