Can’t say I prefer one over the other, but if it has to be one, I’d prefer dealing with Thunderstorms. Unless you’re dealing with a well defined line from an approaching front, they tend to be more isolated to scattered, especially during this time of year. When dealing with icing, it seems to be a phenomena that covers very wide areas, both horizontally and vertically. So much of my flight time has been spent in a Caravan, so we really loathe any type of icing events in that airplane.
