First and foremost, I wish you Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and joyous holiday season. But now, it’s time to get back to work!
“NEW” is this month’s theme, for with this new year, we are pleased to introduce a few new columns with new authors. GREY MATTER begins this month and promises to provide insights for those transitioning into our world of commercial airline operations. You can also be on the lookout for a new column we’re calling CONTRACT TALKS. It will provide greater discernment into the role the various labor unions play in our industry. SKYLAW – Immigration Edition is within our pages this month. The author will edify us on ways to enable our pilot ranks to grow with those who require help to acquire the appropriate visas for study and for work. There will be another few to introduce in the early months of 2023, so stay tuned.
I’m very pleased to report that Aero Crew News continues to grow – to attract new readers, to provide new content, and to introduce new contributors. Everyday there is something new on our social media posts. If you don’t already, you should follow us on the various platforms. Afterall, what’s more new than news?
We are also starting our annual photo contest this month. We’ve decided that our readers need more time to capture and submit that truly awesome shot – the one you’ll show whenever you have an audience. We have a big audience for you, so, point your cameras and start snapping shots that fit the theme: Aircraft at Dawn or Dusk. We’ll be accepting entries (for prizes, of course) through April 15.
