United pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), conducted an informational picket at San Francisco International Airport, Wednesday morning, January 18, 2023, to express our frustration in United’s unwillingness to invest in its pilots.
United pilots, joined by fellow ALPA pilots from other carriers and our United colleagues from the Association of Flight Attendants and the International Association of Mechanists, gathered to show solidarity, support, and resolve. Together, we will stand shoulder to shoulder to express our commitment to attaining an industry-leading contract.
“Management has chosen to delay the conclusion of our negotiations,” said United Master Executive Council acting chair Capt. Mike Harrison. “Our informational picketing sends management the message that United pilots are unified, and we’ve waited long enough for a contract. Continued stalling at the bargaining table puts the company’s growth plans at risk and hinders the airline’s overall goal of being the best airline in the world.”
