The SkyWest Pilot Initiative is a grassroots campaign initiated and led exclusively by current SkyWest pilots — active line pilots flying across all seats, aircraft, and domiciles. This effort was created in response to longstanding concerns about pilot representation and working conditions, and reflects a broad-based desire for meaningful, independent advocacy through the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA).
Contrary to recent suggestions, this initiative is not being led by former employees. It is firmly grounded in the collective action of those currently flying for SkyWest Airlines. ALPA National has formally vetted and verified the committee leadership and continues to support the campaign under the provisions of the Railway Labor Act.
This campaign represents a growing majority of SkyWest pilots seeking a stronger, unified voice — one that is accountable only to the pilot group itself.
