DENVER  – Ultra-low fare carrier Frontier Airlines is proud to announce it was recently awarded the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Diamond Award of Excellence for 2024. The Diamond Award is the FAA’s most distinguished honor in recognition of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) and employers for their commitment to maintenance training and safety.

To qualify for the honor, 100 percent of the airline's eligible maintenance technicians must complete additional FAA-developed safety training courses throughout the year.

“On behalf of the entire Frontier Technical Operations organization, we are immensely proud of this achievement as it recognizes our team’s commitment to technical training and safety,” said Jeff Moore, Vice President, Technical Operations, Frontier Airlines.

In recent years, Frontier has implemented a comprehensive redesign of its Technical Operations training program through curriculum modernization, the introduction of new training courses, development of new training techniques, and a newly structured on-the-job training program focused on proficiency validation. The goal is to ensure a world-class training and education program for Frontier AMTs who are relied upon to support the company’s operations on a daily basis.

Added Bill Russo, Director of Technical Operations Training, Frontier Airlines, “We are extremely pleased with the hard work our Tech Ops team has put into improving safety, quality, and proficiency through enhanced classroom, computer-based, and on-the-job training. Earning this award is a credit to the team’s efforts and it is gratifying to see our AMTs receive the recognition they deserve.”
