On Track to Board Three Million by End of 2023

Breeze Airways,  the U.S.’ only NLCC, or ‘Nice Low Cost Carrier,’ today announced it has flown two million Guests so far this year and is on track to board another million travelers by the end of 2023.

The fast-growing airline grew 216 percent in available seat miles, year over year, in the third quarter of 2023 while also achieving some of the best operational metrics in the industry.

“Breeze is firmly establishing its presence in the industry while succeeding in its mission of ‘Nice people, flying nice people to nice places.,’” said Breeze Airways CEO David Neeleman. “I’m so proud of our 1,500 Team Members for running a safe, efficient and Seriously Nice operation while navigating numerous challenges and industry headwinds.”

In August and September, the carrier canceled fewer than 0.5 percent of its scheduled flights – with August having zero controllable cancellations.   Further, nearly 80 percent of the carrier’s flights were on-time and Guests gave Breeze an unprecedented Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 70.

“The NPS score ranges from -100 to +100 and helps us to understand what truly drives Guest satisfaction. While our scores are already amongst the highest in the industry, we use this data to determine how we can get even better at what we do.  Operational reliability has by far the biggest impact on our NPS and during July, our busiest month, we led the US industry in the percentage of flights completed.”

Breeze currently serves 37 cities with more than 150 seasonal and year-round routes across the U.S. The airline is the largest carrier in terms of destinations served in nine markets and has bases at seven airports. Its two newest cities – Plattsburgh, NY and Springfield, IL start service on November 28 and December 1, respectively.

Breeze’s point-to-point service is predicated on providing the most efficient and affordable travel option from secondary and underserved markets that have lost commercial service in recent years. The airline operates a fleet of brand-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft featuring three seating classes including Breeze Ascent—the carrier’s premium inflight experience featuring 2×2 recliner-style seating and complimentary snacks and beverages, including alcohol.

Breeze has accepted 16 of its 80 A220 deliveries, with options for 40 more. Five of the aircraft are now outfitted with Viasat’s high-speed inflight WiFi and the carrier plans to have the remainder of the A220 fleet installed by first quarter 2024.

Recognized by Travel + Leisure readers as one of the Top 5 Best U.S. Airlines for the second consecutive year, Breeze offers Guests both bundled and a la carte options known as Nice, Nicer and, on flights operated with the Airbus A220-300, Nicest. Breeze’s ‘NLCC’ model features no  no change or cancellation fees, up to 24-months of reusable flight credit, free family seating and customized flight features delivered via a sleek and simple app.
