Chicago, IL – TAP Air Portugal has celebrated five years of service from Chicago O’Hare International and flying more than 317,000 passengers between Chicago and Lisbon. To mark the occasion, TAP announced a special 50 percent bonus miles for Chicago customers when they book a flight by June 17, for travel between September 8, 2024, and May 30, 2025, using their TAP Miles & Go account number and promo code ‘BDAYNAM24’.

During a short ceremony at the airport, representatives from TAP and the Chicago Department of Aviation greeted Lisbon-bound passengers with anniversary cake and fun giveaways.

“We couldn’t be happier connecting Chicago and Lisbon with five weekly nonstops from June through October, and four weekly flights in the winter months,” said Fernanda Ottavio, Sales & Marketing Manager for North America, TAP Air Portugal. “TAP is the only airline that can offer connecting service to six cities in Portugal, extensive connectivity to more than 50 cities across Europe and Africa, and our award-winning Portugal Stopover program which enables travelers to spend as many as 10 nights in Lisbon or Porto, in either direction, for no additional airfare.”

“For the last five years, TAP Air Portugal has bolstered the number of travel opportunities for Chicago passengers to Lisbon and countless destinations across Portugal and beyond,” said Jamie L. Rhee, Commissioner, Chicago Department of Aviation. “On behalf of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, I congratulate the airline on this milestone at O'Hare, and we look forward to many more years of service connecting our two great global cities.”
