Houston police responded to Hobby Airport Saturday evening after a call came in shortly before 7:30 p.m. reporting a hazard at the airport. The threat involved a Southwest Airlines flight on the ground.
Southwest confirmed that the aircraft was subjected to a security screening at the request of local law enforcement. That screening triggered a hold on other inbound flights while the search was conducted.
Houston police later reported that nothing was found. Passengers were able to deplane, Southwest declared operations rolling again, and Hobby Airport confirmed the airport remained operational.
For crew working Hobby arrivals that evening, the inbound hold would have cascaded into delayed gates and pushed departure times. No injuries or further disruptions were reported.
