Frontier Airlines is entering South America for the first time, adding three Colombian destinations from Orlando International beginning this December.

Daily Orlando–Medellín service starts Dec. 10, followed by daily Orlando–Bogotá on Dec. 14. Weekly flights to Cartagena launch Dec. 19.

On the Bogotá route, Frontier steps into direct competition with Avianca and LATAM. The Medellín route puts it up against Avianca, which operates both seasonal summer and winter holiday service on that pairing. Both routes also fill a gap left by Spirit Airlines, which ceased operations earlier this year.

Frontier operates an all-narrowbody Airbus fleet across its network. The Colombia flying is consistent with that model — no widebody transitions or new aircraft type requirements for crews already qualified on the A320 family.

For crew, the South America expansion means new international pairings out of what has been a predominantly domestic and Caribbean operation. Orlando is the originating station for all three routes, so base impact is concentrated there.
