Following a nearly three-hour townhall hosted by IBT Local 2118, Allegiant Pilots for ALPA  has reported a measurable increase in website traffic, representation card requests, and pilot-submitted questions.

The townhall included direct questioning from pilots regarding contract negotiations, merger protections, and representation rights under the Railway Labor Act. According to Allegiant pilots who attended, IBT counsel acknowledged that it is legally permitted for representation cards to be signed and collected.

Pilots in attendance further reported that IBT leadership stated a representation election could occur, but did not commit to refraining from challenging such an election before the National Mediation Board.

Captain Steve Allen, former Allegiant Executive Council President, said the distinction is significant.

“Allegiant pilots are ready for structure, stability, and results. If IBT believes it has represented this pilot group fairly, it should have no fear of a vote,” Allen said.

He continued:
“I call on the Teamsters right now: if you believe you have represented this pilot group fairly; if you believe in the democratic process; if you do not hold your pilot group in complete disdain, believing they are not smart enough to choose intelligently for themselves; then come out publicly right now in support of a representation election and promise not to challenge it before the NMB.”

Allegiant pilots are entering their fifth year of IBT-led contract negotiations, with more than two years having passed since meaningful progress was achieved. The proposed merger environment has heightened attention to representation structure, stability, and long-term career protections.

Allegiant Pilots for ALPA stated it remains committed to ensuring Allegiant pilots are afforded a National Mediation Board-led representation election and the opportunity to determine their future representation through a clear and unimpeded democratic process.
