A Southwest Airlines flight attendant was found dead outside her hotel during a layover in Waikiki, Hawaii. Jenny Lupton, 50, of Moore, Oklahoma, had been staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village when she fell from a 24th-floor balcony, according to what the Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner told her family.
The Honolulu Police Department opened an unattended death investigation. Police have not publicly identified a cause or manner of death and say no further information will be released until the investigation is complete.
Lupton had spent 29 years with Southwest Airlines. Her sister, Tresa Lupton, told Fox News Digital that Jenny had gone out with a fellow flight attendant during the layover — the two danced and she got a tattoo — before the incident occurred.
Hotel security told the family that police are reviewing footage from more than 70 cameras in the area. Whether anyone witnessed the fall has not been established.
Tresa Lupton said she is traveling to Hawaii and that the family has concerns about the circumstances. “The timeline doesn't make sense, and we are afraid that maybe there was foul play,” she said. Police have not confirmed or ruled out any theory.
Southwest Airlines had not commented publicly as of the time of the report.
