The Air Care Alliance (ACA), a nonprofit public service organization representing a nationwide network of volunteer pilot organizations who deliver impactful and inspiring humanitarian services through general aviation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Cheung to the Air Care Alliance Board of Directors.
“We’re pleased to welcome Daniel Cheung to the Air Care Alliance board of directors,” said Mark Hanson, president of Air Care Alliance. “His extensive experience as a CPA specializing in aviation, combined with his commitment to public benefit flying, will bring valuable insight to the board as we strengthen the organization and expand support to our member organizations’ efforts and the volunteer pilots who make their missions possible.”
With more than 25 years of experience in business aviation, Daniel Cheung is the principal and co-founder of Aviation Tax Consultants, LLC. A certified public accountant specializing in aviation tax compliance, Daniel is a frequent speaker at aviation industry events and tax conferences, as well as a regular contributor to aviation trade publications.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Daniel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University in 1989.
In 2023, Daniel joined the Board of Directors of Angel Flight West, an ACA member organization that coordinates free air transportation for patients and families in need through a network of volunteer pilots. In 2024, Daniel received the National Aeronautic Association’s (NAA) Champion of Public Benefit Flying Award in recognition of his dedication and longstanding support of charitable aviation. Since 2024, working in coordination with Cutter Aviation, Daniel has completed more than 50 missions benefiting Angel Flight West passengers.
“I am honored to join the Air Care Alliance Board of Directors,” said Cheung. “Having been involved with Angel Flight West for the past decade, I have seen firsthand the tremendous impact that volunteer pilots and aircraft owners can make in the lives of patients and families in need. I look forward to working with ACA and its member organizations across the country to raise awareness of public benefit flying, encourage greater participation from the aviation community, and expand access to free air transportation for medical treatment and other essential humanitarian needs.”

About Air Care Alliance
Air Care Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public service organization supporting the work of volunteer-based charitable organizations whose members fly to help others. ACA’s mission is to promote, support, and represent public benefit flying through communication and cooperation among organizations facilitating flights for health, compassion, and community service. ACA represents over 50 volunteer pilot organizations that form a vibrant ecosystem of service through aviation. ACA encourages volunteerism among pilots and ensures that charitable aviation remains a viable resource to those who need it most.
With more than 19,500 volunteer pilots across the United States, these compassionate humanitarians leverage their time, talents, and resources to assist those in need. Their missions include transporting patients who must travel long distances to access healthcare, relocating animals to improve adoption opportunities or support their training as service animals, providing educational STEM flights for students, and responding to a wide range of other humanitarian needs—an effort commonly known as “public benefit flying.” Despite its profound impact, the role of general aviation and volunteerism within it remains relatively unknown. For this reason, Air Care Alliance is committed to increasing public awareness of its benefits, encouraging more pilots to volunteer, and continuing to expand its network of volunteer pilot organizations (VPOs) nationwide.
