A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-200 sustained multiple bird strikes, including ingestion into both engines, during takeoff from Orlando International Airport on Monday morning.

Flight DL1505, registration N698DL, began its takeoff roll from Runway 35L at approximately 8:45 a.m. EST. At rotation, the aircraft struck a flock of birds. Some were ingested into both engines.

The flight crew monitored engine performance and determined power output remained stable. Rather than returning to Orlando, they continued the climb to FL290 and flew the scheduled route to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, landing roughly an hour after departure. No injuries were reported.

The aircraft was expected to undergo a technical inspection in Atlanta to assess fan blade and structural damage before returning to service — standard protocol after confirmed dual-engine ingestion. Until that inspection is complete and engineers sign off, the airframe stays grounded.
